Josie's Birthday Celebration

Josie had a fun-filled birthday from the moment she woke up until she went to bed. The night before, we set up a four-foot tall inflatable cake, which we've had since Hils' golden birthday bash in 2005.

Setting next to the cake was her present, which took about 2 1/2 hours to put together. But seeing her open it was well worth it.

Josie always wants to help us cook. Now she has her own little kitchen to cook in, complete with a refrigerator, oven, and sink. At first she thought it was real and tried to eat the plastic food. We had to tell her it was just pretend. What's funny is now she tells US it's just pretend, as if we forgot.

I would say her favorite part of her kitchen is the fake faucet. Josie is constantly pretending to wash her hands. I guess she knows how important it is to keep her hands clean while cooking with food.

And no play kitchen is complete without a toy shopping cart given by Yaya. A great present that will surely last a long time. I see us getting a lot of good use out of it.

And before the night was through, we sang to Josie and she blew out two candles on her brownie (with a little help from her Mom).

Cake comes tomorrow, as do Grandpa, Grandma, and Uncle Brandon.
