We had a great time with Garrett, Kerri, Kate, Charlie, and Will. We got to go a local pumpkin patch, a charity walk, carve pumpkins, eat sushi, play outside, and trick-or-treat. The kids also got to see their Aunt Natalie and were lucky enough to see their Aunt Allison, too! It was really amazing how much family we managed to see during our relatively short visit.
Josie's costume of choice was Plex. Her cousins all dressed in Star Wars attire, and though we tried to convince her to don a Princess Leia ensemble, Josie remained steadfast in her love for Yo Gabba Gabba. Maybe in a couple years, when she actually knows what Star Wars is, she'll be more on board for Princess Leia, but for now, she was happy to reprise her role as a robot for the second year in a row.
Jimmy matched his cousins and dressed as an Ewok. When I ordered the costume, I didn't realize how perfectly Jimmy's little chubby cheeks would complete the look. He was a good sport about wearing his costume, but tired out long before trick-or-treating began.
We are home now, and the kids are finally adjusted to the daylight savings time switch. It took longer than I expected. Added to that, Jimmy came down and pneumonia and Josie had an ear infection-- both are on the mend and Jimmy actually took his last dose of antibiotic tonight. It's a relief, as there's nothing more sad than a sick baby.
We are looking forward to Thanksgiving! Bring on the turkey! (Or as Josie calls it-- THE BIG CHICKEN!)
