Turkey Day 2008

Thanksgiving came and went like a flash. But before we look ahead to Christmas, let's take a quick peek back at Turkey Day from Grandpa and Grandma Phillips' house in Illinois.

Thanksgiving this year was put on by Aunt Donna. She organized everything to a 'T.' As you can see here, while everyone else was asleep, both she and my Grandma were working hard to make some of the food.

One of my favorite memories of Thanksgivings is Grandma making the pies from scratch. This year she baked more than half a dozen, and boy were they good. Here she is adding fruit to the middle.

And here's Aunt Donna whipping up one of her specialties - JELL-O. Aunt Donna, I'm kidding! I believe this is one of the ingredients to Grandma's lemon meringue pie - my Aunt's favorite.

Before we ate, all the cousins in attendance gathered for a small picture in the family room. There is a couch under there somewhere. There it is... Henry's standing on it!

Then, it was the Marshall cousins on the fireplace for a few snapshots.

That's a quick look at Thanksgiving 2008. I can't wait for next year.
