Josie Meets Santa

We took Josie to the mall to see Santa Claus tonight. Josie obviously knows who Santa is. I should say she knows what he looks like. The other day at the doctor's office she pointed to a portly old man with long white beard and called out, "Santa!" The man was kind enough to give her a wink and a smile. I'm sure he gets it a lot, especially around Christmas.

Anyways, it was hard to predict what Josie was going to do when it was her turn to get a picture with him. The line to Santa's chair was long, and as we got closer and closer Josie didn't show any sign of trepidation. In fact, she would occasionally wave to him as he waited for the next kids to plop down on his lap. But Hillary and I anticipated her crying. And sure enough, when it was her turn, she did:

I felt bad that Josie was scared enough to cry. But once the picture was taken and we got her down, she was done shedding tears and completely over Santa. And Santa was over her, and onto another crying kid.

On another note, I don't know about you, but to me that's a pretty darn good Santa look-alike.
