We had been prepping for this day for a while - when we'd take the kids to see Santa. We dressed Josie in Christmas red and put Jimmy in this reindeer suit. What a good sport!
We told Josie we were getting a picture with Santa in the days leading up to our visit. We thought that'd be our best shot at avoiding any type of hysteria at the mall. Nobody likes the element of surprise. But it didn't work as well as we would've liked. Josie wouldn't get out of the stroller. Jimmy, on the other hand, didn't have a choice. And he was fine up until the point when we let go of him.
We made the most out of our trip to the mall by also visiting the Build-A-Bear workshop. Josie has grown fond of baby Rudolph from the classic stop-motion animation movie. We surprised her by letting her pick one out and going through the stuffing process. She pressed the stuff pedal to fluff up Rudolph.
Rudolph got a bath after he received a heart and was sewed shut.
All done!
Two tired kids and a smooth car ride home = two sleeping siblings.
