We set up the bassinet last night. It was given to us by our friends, the Dolatas. I used to babysit their girls when they were just babies-- now they are in junior high! Yikes! Anyway, it's a pretty bassinet, but it's brought it's own host of problems!
The cats think it is their own personal sidecar to our bed. Obviously, once the baby gets here, the cats WILL NOT be allowed in the room.
Our dog, Milo, has also been a little bit distressed with the addition of the bassinet to the bedroom.Last night he pooped and peed in the house, which is pretty unusual for him. We don't know if it's the bassinet's fault, but he probably is aware that there are a lot of new smells (thanks to baby detergent) and new things in the house. Hopefully it will be a fairly easy transition for all of us. Cleaning up dog mess at 2 AM is not exactly my idea of a great time!
Anyway, no baby yet! But she's got a place to sleep should she choose to arrive a little early. We are SO looking forward to 2008. 2007 was a big year for Eric and I (new location, first-time home owners, new jobs, new dog, pregnancy) but I bet 2008 will prove to be even bigger-- which is hard to imagine!
